This week, 21 student delegates from ISM had the prestigious opportunity to participate in the 2024 Sophia Antipolis Model United Nations (SAMUN) conference, hosted at INRIA, University of the Côte d’Azur.
Over the course of two days, these bright minds engaged in thought-provoking debates and discussions within various committees, including Human Rights, ECOSOC, Security Council, Environment and Political. Throughout the event, our students showcased exceptional diplomacy, critical thinking, and public speaking skills as they navigated complex global issues and negotiated solutions. They delved deep into topics ranging from socio-economic disparities to environmental sustainability, displaying a keen awareness of the pressing issues facing our world today.
Our students’ efforts did not go unnoticed, and they were honoured with numerous awards for their outstanding performance. These accolades are a testament to their dedication, preparation, and collaborative spirit, which set them apart in a highly competitive environment. Beyond the recognition, the SAMUN event served as a valuable learning opportunity for our students, fostering a deeper understanding of international affairs, diplomacy, and the importance of cooperation on a global scale. It also provided them with a platform to hone essential skills such as negotiation, consensus-building, and cultural awareness, preparing them to become informed and engaged global citizens. Well done to all!
