ISM students in Years 10 and 12 recently had the honour of participating in UNIS UN, a student-led conference organised by the United Nations International School (UNIS) in New York City.
This year’s theme, “Equal Rights Equal Heights: Climbing the Ladder of Gender Equality,” sparked enlightening discussions with leaders from around the globe over 3 days of conferences, both at the school and in the iconic General Assembly Hall at the United Nations Headquarters.
Accompanied by Mrs. Furey and Mr. Coppola, our students also explored some iconic NYC landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Rockefeller Center and the 9/11 Memorial, as well as taking a UN tour and watching a basketball game at the Barclays Center. What an enriching journey blending education, cultural immersion and unforgettable experiences for our students!
