Year 6 students explore chromotography

This week in their Science lessons, Year 6 students learned about chromatography, a technique used to separate out mixtures.

In their lesson, students explored the mixtures of colours found in felt-tip pens, and they were amazed at the colours they discovered. Using the time lapse function on iPads, they were able to see and record how the colours separated over time. They also looked at how this technique is used in real-world situations, such as in forensic testing and food testing.
