Security and Fire Safety Manager

The International School of Monaco is currently recruiting a Security and Fire Safety Manager to manage, supervise and coordinate all activities relating to the safety of students, staff, visitors and ISM buildings. Reporting to the Facilities Director, this position requires an experienced leader to manage a security team and supervisors while ensuring compliance with safety and fire standards.

Main tasks:

  • Carry out and update risk assessments and emergency procedures, organise evacuation drills and take corrective action.
  • Monitoring and inspecting buildings for fire, safety and security issues, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Supervising external service providers and coordinating the work of security staff to ensure optimum protection of the premises.
  • Coordinating video surveillance, including the installation, updating and smooth operation of systems.
  • Organising security for internal and external events, proposing appropriate solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining evacuation plans and emergency procedures.
  • Organising regular training and supervising the maintenance of fire safety equipment (extinguishers, detectors, alarms).
  • Ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations on campus and intervening when necessary.
  • Managing the safety, security and fire safety budgets under the supervision of the Facilities Director.
  • Preparing audits and forecasts for future needs in terms of equipment and security investments.

 

The successful candidate will have: 

Qualifications 

  • SSIAP 2 or SSIAP 3
  • SST or higher equivalent (PSE 1 / PSE 2 / F-SST)
  • Prevention diploma (NEBOSH or equivalent, such as the DU Préventeur / gestion management)
  • Training in risk management and fire safety required

Experience :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in an educational or institutional environment
  • Experience in managing teams and security services
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols, physical security, threat investigation and emergency management

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, training and team management skills
  • Leadership, organisational and planning skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving and initiative skills
  • Knowledge of current regulations (Monaco and/or France)
  • Good command of IT tools, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in English
